Oak trees take around 100 years until maturity for harvest, therefore, Oak is only used in the top layer of our engineered planks, not in the core or bottom where it will never be seen. The multi-layer plywood core is made with fast growing wood species, such as the Eucalyptus family, assuring a sustainable cycle and harnessing the superior stability and moisture resistance features. When selecting top layer thickness, you are able to establish the number of times the floor can be mechanically sanded and refinished, as well as budget.
